US B1/B2 Visitor Visa Applications
A US visitor visa is a nonimmigrant visa for temporary travel to the United States. A B-1 visa is used for permitted temporary business activities, a B-2 visa is used for tourism and certain other personal visits, and a combined B1/B2 visa can cover both purposes.
UK Visa Plan provides practical application-preparation support for applicants applying from the UK.
Our £250 US Visitor Visa Service Can Include
- initial review of the proposed purpose of travel;
- a personalised information and document checklist;
- preparation of the DS-160 application information;
- review of passport and personal information;
- review and organisation of relevant supporting documents;
- checking previous US travel and visa information;
- practical assistance with the visa-appointment process;
- preparation for the consular interview;
- a final application check before submission; and
- practical administrative support if further information is requested.
The £250 fee is per applicant. US government fees and other third-party costs are separate.
The DS-160 Application
Applicants for US nonimmigrant visitor visas use the online DS-160 Nonimmigrant Visa Application.
The form asks for detailed personal, passport, travel, employment and background information. Previous US travel and wider international travel information may also be required.
UK Visa Plan can help prepare the application information carefully and check it for apparent inconsistencies before the applicant approves and submits the application.
US Visa Interview Preparation
Most B1/B2 applicants should expect to attend a visa interview at a US Embassy or Consulate, subject to the limited interview-waiver rules that may apply to some applicants.
UK Visa Plan can provide practical interview preparation, including reviewing the purpose of travel, the information contained in the DS-160, the documents the applicant intends to take and the kinds of factual matters the applicant should be ready to explain clearly.
We do not script answers or encourage applicants to give anything other than complete and truthful information.
US Visitor Visa Government Fee
The current US government application fee for a B1/B2 visitor visa is US$185 per applicant.
This is separate from UK Visa Plan's £250 service fee and is normally non-refundable.
US ESTA Support Briefing — £50
Some travellers do not need a US visitor visa and may instead travel under the Visa Waiver Program using an approved Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA).
ESTA is intended for eligible nationals of Visa Waiver Program countries travelling for permitted business or tourism visits of 90 days or less.
What Our ESTA Support Briefing Includes
For eligible travellers using the Canadian eTA process, UK Visa Plan offers a practical £50 Support Briefing.
We can explain the official process, identify the information the traveller should have ready, explain passport-number checks and help the traveller navigate the Government of Canada website.
The traveller completes and submits the eTA application themselves.
The official Government of Canada eTA fee is currently CAN$7. Most applications are processed quickly, although some applicants may be asked to provide further document

Travelling to Canada
Travellers to Canada may require either a visitor visa (Temporary Resident Visa) or, for eligible visa-exempt travellers arriving by air, an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA).
Canadian law restricts what advice and support can be given and UK Visa Plan can only assist within the scope of Canadian law.

Canadian Visitor Visas
A Canadian Visitor Visa, also known as a Temporary Resident Visa, is a Canadian immigration application.
We may provide limited practical technical assistance that does not amount to representation, such as helping an applicant navigate the official website and forms, use scanning or document-upload facilities, arrange translations or organise documentation.
The current Canadian Visitor Visa processing fee is CAN$100 per applicant.
A CAN$85 biometric fee may also apply.
